JOB DESCRIPTION

Hanes Companies , a division of Leggett & Platt (NYSE: LEG), is seeking a dedicated 2 nd Shift Mechanic to join our team in Winston Salem, NC . As the leading distributor of industrial fabrics in the United States, our products are integral to a variety of sectors, including industrial packaging, building products, automotive, filtration, furniture, and mattress manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a maintenance team, a strong engineering background, and a commitment to driving operational excellence.

Job Title : Mechanic
Reports to : Maintenance Superintendent
Location : Winston Salem, NC

To be Successful in this role:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in automotive or mechanical technology preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in an automotive or industrial setting.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

So, what will you be doing as a Mechanic?

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and machinery, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and problem resolution.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of parts as needed.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
