General Statement of Responsibilities:

The Assistant Hotel Manager supports the daily operations of the hotel by working closely with the Hotel Manager and department heads to ensure exceptional guest experience, operational efficiency, and team performance. This role plays a key part in managing staff, maintaining quality standards, and driving revenue through excellent service delivery and attention to detail.

• Must be willing to work in a secondhand smoke environment.

Specific Areas of Responsibilities:

• Assist the Hotel Manager in overseeing all hotel departments, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Coffee Bar.
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality customer service and guest satisfaction.
• Handle guest complaints and service recovery in a professional and timely manner.
• Supervise, train, and support front-line staff and supervisors.
• Administer Hotel and Casino policies, procedures, and services.
• Monitor daily operations, occupancy rates, and room availability; assist with forecasting and scheduling.
• Help manage budgets, operations, security, maintenance, and marketing for the hotel, coffee bar, and meeting room facilities.
• Assist in managing vendor contracts and supplies.
• Step in to lead in the absence of the Hotel Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be age 21.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Written and oral communications are required in the primary language used in the work area.
• Strong leadership, management and supervisory skills.
• Minimum of 2 years college education, bachelor's degree in hotel management preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in the hotel or hospitality industry preferred.
• Must have PMS (property management systems) knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of hotel housekeeping and maintenance.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must qualify for a Gaming License.
• Must be able and willing to work any schedule, holidays, and weekends.

Physical Qualifications:

Requires sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, grasping and finger dexterity.

Preference Policy:

Preference will be given to qualified Susanville Indian Rancheria Tribal Members. Indian preference is granted in accordance with P.L. 93-638.
