Role Overview

The Director of Content Marketing will own and execute a content marketing strategy that amplifies our brand, drives measurable business outcomes, and delivers across channels. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role will partner with internal teams and external collaborators to build a scalable, innovative content function that directly ties content to business results.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Leadership

● Design and implement a comprehensive, multi-channel content marketing strategy that supports BluWave’s growth into new industries and audiences. Focus on cornerstone content, reports, thought leadership, and storytelling formats (e.g., blogs, video, webinars).

● Own and oversee budget allocation for content initiatives, leveraging financial resources to maximize ROI and balance internal and external investments (e.g., freelancers, agency partnerships).

● Align content strategy with business objectives and track measurable outcomes such as lead generation, pipeline development, client engagement, and revenue acceleration.

Execution and Innovation

● Manage all owned content channels (e.g., website, blog, email marketing, LinkedIn, and other relevant social platforms), identifying opportunities to optimize and expand BluWave's presence.

● Innovate content workflows by leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Twain, Make, etc.) and automation platforms to boost efficiency, scalability, and creativity.

● Create high-quality, multi-format content while maintaining BluWave’s brand standards for tone, messaging, and visual identity, in collaboration with internal teams and external contributors.

● Partner with internal stakeholders across Demand Gen, Marketing Ops, Design, Sales, and Leadership to develop campaigns that span all funnel stages, ensuring alignment with company goals.

Collaboration and Measurable Impact

● Lead signature content initiatives, including SEO-driven content, proprietary research reports, ABM tools, and thought leadership articles, ensuring they deliver value to key audiences.

● Partner closely with the Demand Gen and Sales teams to create persona-driven messaging frameworks, sales enablement tools, and client case studies that drive pipeline acceleration.

● Regularly report content performance metrics (e.g., CTRs, MQLs, SQLs, conversion rates, and revenue impact) to leadership and stakeholders, sharing actionable insights to optimize campaigns.

● Monitor content marketing trends, explore new formats and platforms (e.g., video, LinkedIn carousels, podcasts), and drive experimentation to expand engagement with BluWave’s target audiences.

What You'll Accomplish

First 3 Months

● Gain a deep understanding of BluWave’s mission, core audiences, and ICP, assessing their pain points and growth objectives.

● Audit all content, workflows, owned channels, and tools to identify quick-win opportunities and performance gaps.

● Implement early productivity solutions such as AI tools or workflow improvements to lay the foundation for scalable execution.

● Build collaborative relationships with Demand Gen, MOPs, Design, and Sales teams to ensure alignment on goals, workflows, and priorities.

 

First 6 Months

● Launch high-impact, multi-channel campaigns tailored to BluWave’s ICP, driving brand awareness, lead generation, and measurable contributions to the pipeline.

● Take complete ownership of BluWave’s signature content initiatives, including SEO/LLMO focused blogs, proprietary research reports, and persona-specific sales enablement tools.

● Establish baseline content performance metrics and operationalize systems to achieve scalable results, integrating external collaborators and AI tools.

 

First Year

● Demonstrate measurable business impact by tying content efforts directly to KPI outcomes like lead generation, pipeline development, and revenue lift.

● Build highly scalable workflows and processes to streamline execution, fostering long-term partnerships with internal stakeholders and external collaborators.

● Present a strategic resource investment plan to showcase opportunities to migrate certain agency or outsourced work into internal capabilities, focusing on efficiency and ROI.

● Expand BluWave’s content strategy into innovative formats and channels (e.g., video, podcasts, etc.) to engage audiences in new ways.

● Establish yourself as a trusted leader across teams and a vital contributor to BluWave’s long-term success.

● Audience-centric and data-driven: You create messaging tailored to niche audiences (e.g., private equity and operational leaders) and continually refine strategies based on performance insights such as CTRs, MQLs, and SQLs.

● Experienced multi-channel marketer: You are skilled at managing content across platforms like blogs, email, social media, and PR, while identifying new ways to engage and impact key audiences.
