Job Description

Our partner, an industrial distribution and manufacturing company located in the South Baltimore area, is immediately seeking a Distribution Operations Manager for their facility.



Distribution Operations Manager Responsibilities:

• Lead, monitor and provide guidance to facility staff to enhance performance, manage operating costs and boost productivity
• Oversee the reception, storage, quality control and reconciliation of all inventory within the facility
• Manage paperwork processing and ensure timely transmission of data to relevant internal parties
• Notify the Fleet Supervisor of any truck or vehicle maintenance issues and assist in coordinating local repair efforts
• Establish and enforce policies and procedures while tracking facility performance metrics, including incident logs, service failures and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures
• Manage fee applications, lead times, quality control measures and other operational aspects
• Maintain the cleanliness, upkeep and functionality of the facility and its equipment
• Assist customers, carriers and contractors as needed within the facility
• Offer consultation and recommendations regarding the performance of personnel and equipment within the facility
• Supervise and implement Security, Health, Safety and Regulatory compliance protocols at the facility
• Liaise with Human Resources regarding performance matters, disciplinary actions, staffing requirements and associate hiring or termination
• Organize monthly meetings and training sessions for drivers and warehouse staff, as well as additional training sessions as necessary

Distribution Operations Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a distribution, warehouse, transportation, or logistics supervisory role
• Strong leadership capabilities required
• Valid driver's license, CDL preferred
• Excellent organizational, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
• Self-starter with exceptional communication skills, someone willing to own and build out the day-to-day processes
