Job description
GENERAL FUNCTION: Welds together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities: Utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials including the specifications of the particular equipment to be used in the process. Must be able to weld butts and bulbs in all positions and pass Ultrasonic (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) test methods. Tank testing and associated duties as required. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The ability to pass a welding test in the overhead and vertical positions based on certifications being sought. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Prior experience as a welder or vocational training is acceptable.
