Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Hotel General Manager to lead the operations of our property. This position is ideal for a dynamic leader with a passion for hospitality and a proven track record in hotel management. The Hotel General Manager will drive operational excellence, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and uphold the high standards synonymous with Hyatt House.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties to ensure the hotel's success and seamless operations:

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations across departments, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
  • Ensure the property operates within Hyatt standards, maintaining a focus on quality, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Establish efficient workflows to streamline operations and enhance productivity.

Guest Satisfaction:

  • Maintain a guest-first approach by ensuring exceptional service delivery at every touchpoint.
  • Address guest feedback promptly, resolving issues to exceed expectations and build loyalty.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction metrics to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Staff Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate department heads and team members to achieve operational goals and foster a culture of collaboration.
  • Develop staffing strategies, hire qualified personnel, and ensure training programs are in place to enhance team performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support career development for staff.

Financial Operations:

  • Manage the hotel’s annual budget, forecasting, and reporting to ensure strong financial performance.
  • Monitor and control operational expenses while maintaining quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through optimized room bookings, events, and other hotel services.

Strategic Planning and Brand Adherence:

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the business while maintaining Hyatt House's commitment to excellence.
  • Uphold and showcase the brand’s standards by ensuring consistency in guest experiences.
  • Evaluate industry trends and competitor strategies to stay ahead in the market.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in hotel management, preferably with a focus on mid-scale extended-stay properties.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with proven experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L accountability.
  • A commitment to operational integrity and guest satisfaction.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in hotel management systems (such as Opera, OnQ, or similar platforms).
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing revenue and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Outstanding communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
