Interstate Powder Coatings started in 2017. We run one of the biggest powder‑coating booths in the Midwest. We coat everything from one small part to large factory runs. Job Summary
A Powder Coating Painter sprays colored powder onto metal parts and makes sure every piece looks perfect. You need to pay close attention, learn quickly, and enjoy working in a busy shop.
Key Responsibilities
• Spray powder on parts with special spray guns.
• Get parts ready—wash, sandblast, or sand so the powder sticks well.
• Load and unload racks and boxes. Drive a forklift safely to move parts and racks. Place parts so the spray covers them evenly.
• Fill hoppers and add more powder when needed.
• Count powder each week and write down how much we have.
• Check each part for runs, bumps, or color problems. Write down what you find.
• Keep the spray booths and work area clean. Help with simple repairs and 5S clean‑up projects.
• Record what you do each day in our computer system.
• Work with teammates and your supervisor to reach daily goals.
• Follow all safety rules all the time.
Work Schedule
• Four 10‑hour shifts: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• Extra hours on Friday if needed.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED (a trade certificate in painting is a plus).
• Pays close attention to details and keeps high quality.
• Manages time well and can handle more than one task.
• Works well alone and with others.
• Can stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in warm areas.
Physical Requirements
• Lift up to 50 lbs many times a day.
• Bend, kneel, and stand for long periods in heat up to 110 °F.
Preferred Skills
• Forklift license (or ready to get one in 90 days).
• Learns new skills fast.
• Works carefully and checks every detail.
• Basic mechanical skills to fix small equipment problems.
