Job Description

Job Purpose & Scope Performs compliance, research, planning, and accounting for the Bank's income tax function. Essential Job Functions + Compiles and performs analysis of financial records used for federal and state income and franchise tax compliance, and performs primary return preparation work. + Assists with financial and regulatory reporting pertaining to income taxes, including assistance with financial statement income tax provisions and computation of deferred tax assets and liabilities. + Compiles and performs analysis of quarterly financial data from third-party fund managers for partnership and tax credit investments. + Performs accounting and financial reporting duties for equity compensation. + Compiles and performs analysis of executive officer equity ownership and assists in Form 4 filings. + Researches complex tax issues and report findings. + Analyzes tax reports and other tax information. + Participates in tax-related projects. + Assists with third party audits of federal, state and local tax returns or filings. + Performs general analysis of internal financial information. + Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions. + Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work. + Follows Bank policy, procedures and guidelines. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Knowledge of federal and state corporate income tax rules and regulations, as well as associated reporting requirements. + Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, specifically related to income taxes. + Ability to collect, research, and analyze data. + Ability to identify problems/issues in a timely manner. + Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. + Ability to demonstrate initiative to accomplish work objectives. + Ability to work effectively and demonstrate flexibility in a continually changing environment. + Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to manage multiple tasks with exacting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to work without close supervision. + Ability to maintain confidentiality. + Ability to work extended hours. + Ability to work effectively in a team environment. + Ability to maintain attention to detail. + Ability to demonstrate effective time management skills. + Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Basic Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or commensurate work experience, required. + 3+ years' work experience in the tax practice of a public accounting firm or in a corporate tax department, required. + Certified Public Accountant designation, preferred Job Expectations Job Expectations: O perate customary equipment and technology used in a business environment, with or without accommodation.
