Job Description

West Point Technical Operations - Integrated Product Team is seeking highly motivated individuals to support a technical support team for a multi-product vaccine manufacturing facility. This role will partner with Operations and Quality to meet the targeted manufacturing and compliance initiatives for the IPT. The subject position will be responsible for the following:
  • Authoring and investigation of quality notifications that occur during routine manufacture of bulk vaccine.
  • Performing root cause analysis and written impact assessments/investigations for production events.
  • Collaboration across IPT functional areas to ensure robust processing, continuous improvement and cross-functional team building.
  • Supporting projects including continuous process improvements, investigation Corrective/Preventative Actions (CAPAs), and value capture projects that seek to improve yield, reduce cost, or lower our processing cycle times.
  • Supporting team and IPT safety, environmental, and compliance objectives.

Minimum Education Requirements:
  • BS in Biological Sciences/Chemical Engineering/Biological Engineering/Chemistry/Mechanical Engineering.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • BS with a minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Excellent academic record.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, team skills, personal character, and ethics.
  • Familiarity with Vaccine Manufacturing Operations.
  • Familiarity with cGMPs, CFR, and other appropriate regulations in relation to vaccine manufacturing.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry educational background.
  • Working fermentation process knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of cGMPs.
  • Strong problem solving skills and a hands-on approach to problem solving, with a bias towards going to see problems for oneself in the field.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
